We are pleased to share the Results Framework for Malawi's National Strategic Plan (NSP) 2026–2030 for HIV. This document serves as the monitoring and evaluation backbone for the national HIV response, establishing clear indicators, baselines, and milestone targets to track progress toward Malawi's HIV elimination goals.
95-95-95 Targets
The Framework is structured around the UNAIDS 95-95-95 targets:
- 95% of people living with HIV (PLHIV) knowing their status
- 95% of diagnosed PLHIV on antiretroviral therapy (ART)
- 95% of those on ART achieving viral suppression
Key Focus Areas
- Treatment and care – ART coverage, CD4 testing for ART initiators, viral load monitoring
- Prevention of mother-to-child transmission (PMTCT) – HIV testing in ANC, early infant diagnosis
- Key populations – Targeted interventions for FSW, MSM, Transgender, and PWID
- Prevention – Condom distribution, VMMC, and PrEP scale-up
- Integration – TB screening and TPT for PLHIV, hypertension screening for ART patients
Data Sources and Alignment
All targets are derived from the Spectrum model (Malawi_2026_v12) and aligned with the Global Fund GC8 reporting requirements.
