implementation of the 2011 Integrated Clinical\r\nHIV Guidelines1 in 
            
27
July 2011. A summary of the key achievements between July and 
            
28
September\r\n2011 is provided below:\r\no Scale-up of integrated HIV 
            
29
services had reached the following number of sites:\r\n\r\n   * 
            
30
__810__ HTC sites (547 within and 263 outside of health 
            
31
facilities)\r\n\r\n   *__409__ (static) ART sites\r\n\r\n   *__317__ 
            
32
PMTCT sites (Option B+)\r\n\r\n   *__225__ Pre-ART sites\r\n\r\n   
            
33
*__193__ sites with HIV-exposed child follow-up\r\n\r\n   *__381,816_

persons tested and counselled for HIV, 165,580 (43%) of these tested 
            
35
for the first\r\ntime.\r\n\r\n   *__120,201 (74%) __of 162,187 women 
            
36
at ANC had their HIV status ascertained; __10,336 (9%)__ of\r\nthese 
            
37
were HIV positive and __8,277 (78%)__ of these received ARVs.\r\n\r\n  
            
38
*__115,103 (91%) __of 126,514 women at maternity had their HIV status 
            
39
ascertained;__ 9,192 (8%)__\r\nof these were HIV positive and __8,127 
            
40
(88%)__ of these received ARVs during labour.\r\n\r\n  *__8,509 (8%)__

of infants discharged alive from maternity were known to be HIV 
            
42
exposed, __7,758\r\n(91%)__ of these received ARV 
            
43
prophylaxis.\r\n\r\n*__3,244__ women started ART under Option B+: 
            
44
__1,847 (52%)__ were pregnant and __1,394 (48%)__\r\nwere 
            
45
breastfeeding.\r\n\r\n*__24,638__ patients started ART during this 
            
46
quarter; this is 30% more than in any other quarter\r\nsince the start 
            
47
of the ART program in 2004.\r\n\r\n*__79%__ of adults and __79%__ of 
            
48
children were retained alive on ART 12 months after 
            
49
ART\r\ninitiation.\r\n\r\n*__295,962__ patients were alive and on ART 
            
50
by end of September 2011; __4,384__ (1.5%) were on\r\nART regimen 5A 
            
51
(tenofovir / lamivudine / efavirenz)\r\n\r\n*__3,596__  HIV exposed 
            
52
children and __8,594__ pre-ART patients enrolled for follow-up in HIV 
            
53
Care\r\nClinics (HCC)\r\n\r\n*__2,856__ health workers were trained in 
            
54
the new integrated PMTCT/ART curriculum during Q3,\r\nbringing the 
            
55
total number of health workers re-trained in the new guidelines to 
            
56
__3,366__. All\r\ntraining details were captured in the new national 
            
57
HIV training data base (TrainSMART) at\r\nMOH.\r\n\r\n*__266__ new HTC

providers were trained during Q3 and 25 qualified HTC providers

received\r\nfurther skills training in couples
