  "notes": "This is the first report from TB program on integrated

TB/HIV supportive supervision. This report is compiled based on two 
            
27
supervision for period covering __January \u2013March and April 
            
28
\u2013June 2015__\r\nThe following are summaries of key achievement

and challenges.\r\n\r\n* TB registration sites have reached 281 with 
            
30
reported 276 TB microscopic facilities of which 226 were reported 
            
31
functional during the supervision\r\n\r\n* Forty health facilities 
            
32
provided Xpert service\r\n\r\n* A total __8582__ health facilities TB 
            
33
cases were notified during the reporting period of which 92% were new 
            
34
or relapse cases\r\n\r\n* Case detection rate has been minimal as 
            
35
proportion of presumptive TB among OPD visitors was less than 
            
36
1%\r\n\r\n* Smear positive rate among presumptive TB cases was 9.1% 
            
37
with __15642__ presumptive TB cases examined in a laboratory in 
            
38
quarter 2 of 2015\r\n\r\n* The number presumptive TB cases documented 
            
39
in chronic cough register was 9233 of 15642 (59%) presumptive TB cases 
            
40
examined in a lab\r\n\r\n* The estimated treatment success rate among 
            
41
smear positive TB cases for the period was 86% with death rate 5.8%. 
            
42
The death rate was higher among EPTB, smear negative and retreatment 
            
43
cases.\r\n\r\n* Smear follow-up at 2nd and 5th month was __70%__and 
            
44
__62 %__ respectively\r\n\r\n* Of all notified cases __94%__ had HIV 
            
45
test result, with __52%__ positivity rate and __95%__ ART coverage 
            
46
during Apr-June 2015\r\n\r\n* 13 MDR /RR TB patients were started on 
            
47
second line treatment during first semester of 2015.\r\n\r\nOverall 
            
48
case detection effort was minimal. NTP intend to improve case 
            
49
detection through strengthening the systematic TB screening in health 
            
50
care setting, community interventions and referrals and implementation 
            
51
of contact investigation. The integrated supportive supervision has 
            
52
also shown improvement over time, however, requires more action to 
            
53

in 2001, initially as a unit in the Department of Clinical Services,
